CALLED TO BE GOD'S HERALDS AND SERVANTS

OUR VISION

To grow disciples who will be God's Heralds and Servants.

A herald is a disciple who faithfully serves and obeys Christ by proclaiming the Good News of God's message of reconciliation. As children of God, we have been called to be Christ's ambassadors (II Corinthians 5:14-6:1) and have been commissioned by Him to go forth and proclaim the Good News to those who have not heard (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:14 -18; John 17:18), using every means at our disposal and taking advantage of every opportunity that comes our way to tell others of God's love and plan of salvation (I Corinthians 9:16-23).

A servant is a disciple who, in obedience to Christ, works to extend God's kingdom in his/her community in love and truth. As children of God, we have been anointed by the Holy Spirit to bring the whole gospel to the whole person (Luke .4: 16-21), to exercise goodness and walk humbly with God (Micah 6:8), to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16), to share with those in need (I John 3:16-18), and to love those who do not yet know Him as their Lord and Savior (Deuteronomy 10:18-19).

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to fulfill the Great Commission by sharing with the world about Jesus Christ and helping those who have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior to develop a personal relationship with Christ.

OUR MINISTRY

The three-fold ministry by which we will fulfill our vision and mission is as follows:

UPWARD MINISTRY:

The main objective of this ministry is to bring honor and glory to God who is our Creator, Savior and Sanctifier.

1. Worship: Through worship, we seek to individually and corporately attribute honor and glory to God who owns all that we possess and who is worthy of our adoration and allegiance. As heralds and servants, we are called to worship God (I Chronicles 16:29; Psalm 95:6), to love Him with all our heart and soul (Deuteronomy 6:4-5) and to wholly give ourselves to Him (Psalm 145:18; Jeremiah 24:7; Acts 17:27).

2. Service: Through service to God, we seek to exercise the Spiritual gift(s) He has given us to build up his church. As heralds and servants of God, each of us have been given at least one spiritual gift (I Corinthians 12:4-11) with which we are to do good works and serve others for the purpose of building up the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Peter 4:10).

3. Stewardship: Through stewardship, we seek to honor God and manage the resources He has given us to build up His work and expand His kingdom. The earth, and everything in it, belongs to God (Psalm 24:1). Because we are His sons and daughters, God has given to each of us a portion of his riches and wealth to manage. He expects us to manage well what He has given us (Matthew 25:14-30). He also expects us willingly to return to Him, on a regular basis, a portion of it (Deuteronomy 16:17; 1 Corinthians 16:2) which, in almost every case, is at least a tithe (Leviticus 27:30) for the purposes of building up His work and expanding His kingdom (Exodus 35:4-36:5).

INWARD MINISTRY:

The main objective of this ministry is to integrate into our lives the Biblical teachings which will enable us to edify the body of Jesus Christ and live holy lives.

1. Nurture: In obedience to our Lord and King, we seek to disciple and teach the children of God to become faithful Heralds and Servants of our coming King. God has called his people to teach, train and admonish with all wisdom His children about Himself, His laws and His ways so that we may live a godly life worthy of the calling we have received and come before Him perfect in Christ (Matthew 28:19-20; Colossians 1:8).

2. Fellowship: Through fellowship, we are called to support and care for the body of Christ and to restore the broken relationships among individuals and groups. As a family of God, we are called to share our lives with one another, to forgive one another (Colossians 3:12-17), to be like-minded, and to have the same love, spirit and purpose (Philippians 2:1-4). God also calls us to restore our broken relationships with one another, whether those relationships are between individuals (Matthew 5:23-24; 18:15-20), or groups (Acts 6:1-7).

OUTWARD MINISTRY:

The main objective of this ministry is to proclaim and live out the Good News of the Gospel to those near and far.

1. Evangelism: Through evangelism, we seek to proclaim the Good News to those who live in our communities. As His agents of transformation, God has called us to go forth and proclaim His message of love and His plan of salvation to those who do not yet know Him (Romans 10:14-15; 1 John 1:5).

2. Social Involvement: Through social involvement, we seek to manifest God's love and compassion by ministering to and meeting the needs of those in our community. As His instrument of righteousness, God has called us to love those who live among us (Exodus 22:21; Leviticus 19:34), to care for those in need (Deuteronomy 26:12), to seek righteousness and justice (Isaiah 1:17) and to love our neighbors as much as we love ourselves (James 2:8).

3. Missions: Through missions, we seek to proclaim the Good News of God's plan of redemption to those in the world who do not yet know Christ. As His representative on earth, God has called us to make His name known and great throughout our neighborhoods, country and to every nation in the world (Malachi 1:11; Matthew 24:14; Acts 1:8).
